A democratic Milan Fashion Week SS 2021

Due to Covid-19 we have to avoid crowded places like restaurants, discos, pubs or runways. Italy is based on fashion and this combination can’t be interrupted by a pandemic, so our designers have discovered new ways to show theirs artworks. For example Fendi, the brand that opened Milan Fashion Week, had shown its new Spring-Summer collection 2021 as well online as in reality. You can follow the runway comfortably from your home and you stay safe. To be honest Fendi has always showed its runway online too, so it is a choice not due to Covid-19. However this time the runway has been broadcasted only one time, not lately as before pandemic, after that, many influencers had shared their favourite looks of the new season. Even if this choice is due to Covid-19 I have to admit that I find it very interesting because makes fashion industry less luxury than before and more democratic and universal.

We do not have to pay any ticket or register at any form, you have only to browse Youtube, then Fendi, you are in front row, sitting close to one of your favourite fashion writer and a beautiful model, with a marvelous dress, is walking in front of you. Do you want something else?

Well Fendi’s show wants to help visitors to fly away, white clouds pass on our screen and natural sounds remind to us remote places which we can’t visit due this pandemic. We can’t physically fly but our mind bear in mind at that time when we were high in the sky and below us there was only nature, in its simplicity and beauty. Well I find that Fendi runway’s scene is wonderful, beautiful effects had been added at the virtual video such as melodies and marvelous pictures. 

Although we do not have to forget that we are speaking about fashion, so what do you think about this show? Everyone can submit their own ideas. 

In my opinion I discover how colours can change if we look at them from a different perspective. When we talk about white we were used to connect this colour to a sense of pureness and freshness, but not now, not during a pandemic. We were always used to fly, and we believe that it was so natural to fly between continent since when everything stopped. We have re-designed our lifestyle, we had began to reduce large connection, and we have discovered a new world based by colours like green, blue, orange and white. This time white is not a symbol of pureness but reminds us to a blue sky with clouds, those clouds which we were used to break through a plane and now we see them more fare away, from our home. That is my favourite dress of the show,  Mariacarla Boscono’s dress is my favourite of the show, because it reminds to me unforgettable moments made by vintage shapes and different traditions and customs that are not completely lost.
